Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill in Tarpon Springs, Florida is a great destination for fresh seafood cooked to perfection. Located in the historic Sponge Docks area, this family owned and operated restaurant has its own boats. You can dine inside or out back, overlooking the bayou. From there you can watch the boats being unloaded.
Be sure to check out the outside bar area. There is waterfront seating there as well and what I love is that there is always a great breeze! Live music all weekend and plenty of parking make this a great destination. Located on the west end of the Sponge Docks, give them a call at 727-934-4047 to check for reservations. This is one restaurant that you will be visiting again if you love fresh seafood.
While you are there, be sure to check out the family owned and operated seafood market directly next door to Rusty Bellies, Pelican Point Seafood. Pelican Point Seafood accepts local commercial fishermen’s fresh catches and then sells it to you, the consumer. That is called getting it really fresh!
Remember both of these locations, Rusty Bellies and Pelican Point Seafood, the next time you are in Tarpon Springs Florida.
Ohana Cafe is located at 306 North Orange Street in Ozona Florida, right next to the post office. This is without a doubt, my FAVORITE place to eat! Ohana means ‘family’ in Hawaiian and that is exactly what it is: a family run cafe where YOU are treated like part of their family! Teresa and her family are originally from Honolulu and they are the owners of this great eating establishment.
The menu is varied and healthy! Looking for vegan? They have it! Need your meat fix? They have that as well! Gluten free? Not a problem! And they also serve beer and wine if you are planning on a celebration or just like a glass of wine with your meal. Whatever they serve is made FRESH daily in their kitchen. They make fantastic smoothies and
wonderful soups too! If you are not sure about something in an item, ask to have it left out. I asked about the spinach in the smoothie and was told I could have it left out OR try it with spinach and if I did not like it, they would replace it for one without! Not too many places respond like that! By the way, I tried it and LOVED it!
Closed Mondays, they are open 6 days a week but check their hours, since they do vary from day to day! There is often live entertainment which includes hula dancing! How is that for getting the feel of the islands right here in little Ozona Florida? See you at Ohana Cafe! Aloha!
