FlameStone Grill in Oldsmar Florida was our destination today for what turned out to be an excellent lunch. It was our first time there and I know it is not going to be our last. From the excellent service our waiter Nico offered, to the recommendations of what to enjoy from the menu, it was a perfect experience.
I had the salmon salad with goat cheese, mixed greens and fresh berries. It could not have been better! Each mouthful was a sensuous experience. Ronnie enjoyed their fresh ground steak burger with fries. Ronnie feels you can always tell the ability of the chef on how the burger is prepared. We were both extremely pleased with our meals and I sincerely recommend you give it a try for a family dining experience or to take clients out for lunch.
Located at 4009 Tampa Road in Oldsmar Florida, FlameStone Grill is one place you definitely want to check out.
Green Springs Bistro in downtown Safety Harbor Florida has amazing food that is made with a lot of tender love and care. You can tell by the quality of what is served that this is no chain restaurant.
Located on 4th Avenue North, just down the block from the Post Office, this building was once a single family home and as so many of the eclectic restaurants and shops in Safety Harbor, was turned into a commercial property. Perhaps that
is part of the charm of the building.
There is always background music since there is always a guitar player in the one of the rooms and the music resonates throughout the bistro. Soothing and never too loud, it is just one more thing that I love about dining here. The food is wonderful! The portobello mushroom ravioli to the mixed blueberry and blackberry compot with yummy vanilla bean ice cream on top! There are so many unique choices on the menu and the evening menu is somewhat different from what is offered during the lunch hours, which are 11:30 am to 3 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The bistro is closed on Sunday and Monday.
Ozona Blue Grilling is one of my favorite places for waterfront dining and it is located in quaint Ozona Florida. Whether taking the family out for dinner or meeting colleagues for lunch, this is the place. Located at 125 Orange Street, just off Alternate 19 in Palm Harbor Florida, you want to be sure to check this great restaurant out.
At Ozona Blue Grilling you (and the kids) can come in your bathing suits and sit pool-side or under the cabana while you enjoy your meal and/or drinks. Naturally, there is also dining inside or on the terrace near the outside Tiki bar. Weekends normally offer live bands playing outside and you can dance the night away! Call to see which band is playing (727-789-4540) or to make reservations.
Ozona Blue Grilling has been around since 2006 and is one of the most popular local restaurants. Everything is excellent, from the Ahi Tuna to the Grouper dinner or the Mediterranean Flatbread! I have never had a meal there that I did not enjoy. Come live the Florida lifestyle, enjoy live entertainment and great food at Ozona Blue Grilling.
Leafy Greens Cafe, located at 1626 Central Avenue in St Petersburg Florida is indeed a treat! This wonderful little cafe is not only vegan, raw, organic and gluten free, it is wonderful! I love eating healthy but often find that ‘healthy’ restaurants don’t taste as good. Guess I am used to the overly sweet and salty foods we all have gotten used to.
Leafy Greens Cafe is a delight! The first time I was there, I had their Tacos which is served on two large romaine leaves. The tasty combination of cashew hummus, guacamole, raw walnut ‘meat’, red & green cabbage, grape tomatoes, red bell peppers, red onions and a fantastic chipotle cashew dressing made me an instant fan of this little cafe!
Yes, I did say ‘little’ cafe, so I suggest reservations! Call 727-289-7087 to make sure you have a table waiting for your arrival at Leafy Greens Cafe. They get seriously crowded during lunch time since their food is out of this world! Be sure to go the extra mile and try the gluten free chocolate pie! The crust is made of date paste and crushed nuts with a chocolate that is as smooth as silk and absolutely delicious.
New England Ale House is located on Alternate 19 in lovely Palm Harbor Florida. This new establishment opened in June 2014 and should prove to be extremely popular. Located in what used to be The Old School House, the new owners have remodeled the building. Built in 1910, the newly remodeled building now includes a large covered deck to accommodate a larger clientele.
Randall & Tara Cook bring to the Palm Harbor Florida area an interesting menu of dishes. One of my personal favorites is the New England Salad, which includes cranberries, almonds, mixed greens, warm biscotti crusted New England goat cheese, shaved onions and a house made maple Vermont dijon dressing. As for desserts, you really need to try the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream!
The New England Ale House in Palm Harbor Florida offers a wide selection of beers as well as some dinner offerings that you will not find elsewhere in the Tampa Bay Area. Be sure to check out their website to obtain more information on the menu and their Mug Club! This is just one more reason why living here in the Palm Harbor Florida area rocks.
The Tarpon Turtle Restaurant on beautiful Lake Tarpon in Tarpon Springs Florida is always a wonderful destination for lunch. One of the things that makes this restaurant so special is it’s location, directly on the northern shores of Lake Tarpon.
Accessible by boat as well, this great restaurant offers seating out on the docks, at the Tiki Bar or inside where you can enjoy air conditioning. Since the restaurant is located directly on the shore of this five mile long lake, there is always a refreshing breeze blowing. You can sit outside and enjoy the wildlife that frequent the lake which includes not only a wide variety of birds but also alligators. Please remember NOT to feed the gators since feeding them makes them associate people with food. That is definitely not a good idea.
The Tarpon Turtle Restaurant is great for large gatherings, meetings and parties. The friendly staff goes out of it’s way to accommodate in every way so your event is really perfect. With a large selection of great dishes, there is something for every pallet. Be sure to check out the Tarpon Turtle Restaurant located at 1513 Lake Tarpon Avenue in Tarpon Springs Florida. Just one more reason why living here in the Tarpon Springs Florida area is truly wonderful.
Thai Bay & Sushi Restaurant in Largo Florida was my destination today for lunch with a close friend. We both love the food at Thai Bay and we are always sampling something different. This restaurant is also an absolutely beautiful place to dine. Thai restaurants have a reputation for their intricate wood carvings, Thai statues and orchid plants everywhere and Thai Bay Restaurant is no exception. This is the perfect location for a special occasion, a business meeting or meeting with friends.
Thai Bay has a wonderful lunch menu and a larger dinner menu. No matter which menu you use, the food is always more than enough and everything is prepared excellently. From the tasty Thai Tea and Thai Spring Rolls to the large selection of main entries, you are sure to be pleased and your taste buds will be delighted. Naturally, Thai coconut ice cream with litchi nuts is delicious end to any meal.
When looking for an outstanding location to dine, be sure to check out Thai Bay & Sushi Restaurant located at 1300 East Bay Drive in Largo Florida. The location is convenient to all sections of Pinellas County since it is in the approximate center of our county and also near the Gulf Beaches. I do indeed believe that you will be glad to have tried this beautiful restaurant.
Sea Critters Cafe and the Hurricane Seafood Restaurant, are fantastic summer destinations on St Pete Beach’s Pass-a-Grille. Located on the southern-most section of St Pete Beach, Pass-a-Grille offers pristine beaches and a great selection of locations for dining on local seafood.
The beaches are never as very crowded and what better place to take a long walk than along the miles of white sandy beaches that run north and south here in Pinellas County? With the combination of turquoise water, pure white sand and the pale blue skies, it is indeed a little piece of Paradise on Earth!
One of my favorite locations for dining on Pass-a-Grille Beach is Sea Critters Café, located at 2007 Pass-a-Grille Way. You can dine inside or out at the docks where locals come to tie up their boats for lunch. Either way, you will find a friendly staff and first rate dining. Fresh fish is served daily and you can have it blackened or grilled. Their grouper is fantastic but so is the red snapper or the blackened shrimp!
If you are looking for nightlife, be sure to check out the Hurricane Seafood Restaurant. Built in 1912, the Hurricane Seafood Restaurant offers homemade conch, bisque and clam chowder along with a wide range of other seafood dishes. In 1991 the Hurricane added a second floor and this became Stormy’s Nightclub. The Hurricane Watch Roof-top offers live entertainment and some of the best views around of the sun setting over the Gulf of Mexico!
The Hurricane Seafood Restaurant is open seven days a week beginning at 7 am. A great meeting place for breakfast, it is really one place you need to check out while enjoying the beaches on Pass-a-Grille.
There are also numerous short and long term beach rentals available on Pass-a-Grille Beach, so be sure to check the area out for your next beach holiday! You will be glad you did!
Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill in Tarpon Springs, Florida is a great destination for fresh seafood cooked to perfection. Located in the historic Sponge Docks area, this family owned and operated restaurant has its own boats. You can dine inside or out back, overlooking the bayou. From there you can watch the boats being unloaded.
Be sure to check out the outside bar area. There is waterfront seating there as well and what I love is that there is always a great breeze! Live music all weekend and plenty of parking make this a great destination. Located on the west end of the Sponge Docks, give them a call at 727-934-4047 to check for reservations. This is one restaurant that you will be visiting again if you love fresh seafood.
While you are there, be sure to check out the family owned and operated seafood market directly next door to Rusty Bellies, Pelican Point Seafood. Pelican Point Seafood accepts local commercial fishermen’s fresh catches and then sells it to you, the consumer. That is called getting it really fresh!
Remember both of these locations, Rusty Bellies and Pelican Point Seafood, the next time you are in Tarpon Springs Florida.
Ohana Cafe is located at 306 North Orange Street in Ozona Florida, right next to the post office. This is without a doubt, my FAVORITE place to eat! Ohana means ‘family’ in Hawaiian and that is exactly what it is: a family run cafe where YOU are treated like part of their family! Teresa and her family are originally from Honolulu and they are the owners of this great eating establishment.
The menu is varied and healthy! Looking for vegan? They have it! Need your meat fix? They have that as well! Gluten free? Not a problem! And they also serve beer and wine if you are planning on a celebration or just like a glass of wine with your meal. Whatever they serve is made FRESH daily in their kitchen. They make fantastic smoothies and
wonderful soups too! If you are not sure about something in an item, ask to have it left out. I asked about the spinach in the smoothie and was told I could have it left out OR try it with spinach and if I did not like it, they would replace it for one without! Not too many places respond like that! By the way, I tried it and LOVED it!
Closed Mondays, they are open 6 days a week but check their hours, since they do vary from day to day! There is often live entertainment which includes hula dancing! How is that for getting the feel of the islands right here in little Ozona Florida? See you at Ohana Cafe! Aloha!
