Tarpon Springs Florida

Tarpon Springs Florida is a wonderful Greek community located where the Anclote River flows into the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Settled by Greeks from the Dodecanese Islands, this vibrant community was once a sponge diving mecca. Today Tarpon Springs has a bustling shopping district along the Sponge Docks on Dodecanese Blvd. as well as the shopping centers on US Hwy 19. Fred Howard Park leads out to one of the two beaches you will find here in Tarpon Springs Florida. The other, Sunset Beach, is a smaller beach to the south. Both have pure white sand and plenty of parking. Sunset Beach is a local favorite for sunset guitar collaborations.  Anderson Park, up on Lake Tarpon, has a boat ramp for great bass fishing. There is also a doggie park section in Anderson Park for your four legged friends to enjoy.

Tarpon Springs Florida has the largest population of American Greeks in the nation. It is the perfect place to enjoy authentic Greek dishes. The fantastic restaurants along Dodecanese Blvd will not disappoint you! If you happen to know the Greek language, this is one place you can use it without needing a passport! Tarpon Springs brings a little bit of what is Greek to Florida and locals love it!

Be sure to check out the deep sea fishing boats or take advantage of one of the boat trips out to watch hardhat sponge divers demonstrate the industry that put Tarpon Springs on the map!
